Keynote Title: Open education in Ireland: capabilities, collectivities, and co-creating just futures

Dr Catherine Cronin an independent scholar focused on critical and social justice approaches in digital, open and higher education. Catherine is co-editor of the open-access book Higher Education for Good: Teaching and Learning Futures.
This one-day national event brought together colleagues from across Ireland’s higher education sector to explore current developments in open education and its policy context. The programme combined keynote addresses, sectoral case studies, short “Gasta” talks, and panel discussions and workshops designed to share experience and explore practical next steps. Contributions included perspectives from open education practitioners and scholars working across Irish and international higher education contexts.
