The project investigated the use of high-profile artificial intelligence tools in higher education and their implications for teaching and learning. Drawing on a recognised digital competence framework, it critically evaluated these tools and identified the knowledge and capabilities needed to use AI effectively, critically, and responsibly. The project adopted an interdisciplinary, student-partnered approach, bringing together students, faculty, and professional staff as equal collaborators. Participants contributed to research design, data collection and analysis, resource development, implementation, and evaluation. Reflective sessions captured the project’s successes, challenges, and recommendations for future practice. The project delivered two principal outputs: a collaboratively designed online AI Readiness module and an AI digital capabilities matrix. These resources were developed to support the adaptation of AI education across different faculties and disciplinary contexts.
