FLAME: Facilitating Learning with Animation and Multimedia Engagement

The project empowered educators and students to create accessible, interactive 3D learning materials without relying on costly, vendor-controlled platforms. It addressed gaps in the availability and accessibility of multimedia resources by developing a dedicated online training module, establishing a digital library, and producing physical artefacts connecting digital learning with tactile experiences. The 3D and augmented-reality resources supported the teaching of complex concepts, enhanced pre- and post-laboratory learning, and reduced language barriers through visual approaches. Designed in line with inclusive design principles and web accessibility standards, the materials promoted equitable participation and critical engagement with digital media. Students also participated in co-creating resources for challenging topics, while the effectiveness of the materials was evaluated and shared with the wider educator community.
