This form is part of a national effort to map how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is being integrated into teaching and learning across Irish higher education institutions. As GenAI tools and technologies continue to evolve, it is important to capture how educators, researchers, support staff, and institutions are engaging with and embedding these tools in practice.
The form builds on the Ten Considerations for Generative AI Adoption, developed through dialogue with stakeholders across higher education, industry, and related agencies in late 2024. It supports the next phase of this work by collecting real-world examples of initiatives, innovations, and policies that reflect current engagement with GenAI. These contributions will inform a national report to be published in 2025, offering evidence-based policy guidance and recommendations.
By submitting your work, you will contribute to a more comprehensive picture of GenAI activity across the sector, helping to highlight emerging opportunities, challenges, and best practices, and fostering collaboration across institutions.
Staff at Irish higher education institutions are invited to submit. This includes academic staff, researchers, teaching support staff, instructional designers, policy makers, and others involved in projects or practices related to GenAI.
You can submit individually or on behalf of a team, department, or institution. If you have led or contributed to work involving GenAI in any aspect of teaching, learning, curriculum, or policy, your input is welcome and encouraged.
We are interested in a wide variety of contributions that involve the use or exploration of GenAI in teaching and learning contexts. If the work supports or explores the role of GenAI in education and reflects good practice or innovation, we would be keen to hear about it.
No. We welcome a wide range of contributions, including informal practices, pilot initiatives, and practical examples from teaching or institutional life.
You do not need to have completed a formal project or published work to submit. The goal is to capture what is happening on the ground, from experimental uses in the classroom to larger institutional strategies.
Only if you give permission. The form allows you to choose whether your submission may be included in publicly accessible summaries, resources, or publications highlighting GenAI activity in Irish higher education.
Please note that submission does not guarantee inclusion in public outputs. All submissions will be reviewed for relevance, appropriateness, and alignment with the aims of this initiative. We reserve the right to exclude submissions that are promotional in nature, incomplete, or not aligned with the purpose of mapping educational use of generative AI.
You may upload supporting documents, presentations, visuals, videos, or any other media that helps illustrate your work. You can also link to online resources such as:
- Institutional websites
- Open-access publications
- Public reports or case studies
- Videos or teaching resources
Please ensure that you (and any collaborators) have the appropriate rights and permissions to share these materials. Uploaded or linked materials may be included in public summaries unless you indicate otherwise.
Once your submission is received, it will be reviewed by the members of the HEA executive involved in mapping GenAI activity across the sector.
If you have given permission to be contacted, you may be invited to contribute further, for example, by participating in a case study, attending an event, or sharing more detail for inclusion in a future publication or resource.
Yes. If you need to make changes or wish to withdraw your submission, you can do so at any time by contacting josullivan@hea.ie. We will respond promptly and respect your request.
There is currently no fixed end date for submissions. The form will remain open while the mapping of generative AI activity in Irish higher education continues. However, we encourage early submissions where possible, as contributions may be reviewed and featured on a rolling basis as part of ongoing analysis, publications, or events throughout 2025. Any future closing date will be clearly communicated on this page.
