Coding theory is a major component of Applied Algebra. It has many applications in the mathematics of communications and has many links with other scientific disciplines, such as electrical engineering and computer science. Coding theory arises in almost every imaginable digital communications and storage system. In UCD, it is taught at the undergraduate level in the module MATH30180 An Introduction to Coding Theory.
About this initiative
The BSc in Nursing programme aims to help students in developing and transferring their clinical skills from a teaching to a practice placement environment. Currently, the skills element of the programme is taught face-to-face with skills teachers having to teach large classes of approx. 100 students at any one time, but with this project, the aim is to enhance the mode of delivery by building upon the existing technology infrastructure in the Clinical Education Centre (CEC) thus enhancing the students’ learning experience and reducing teachers’ burden.
