The project partnered with students to investigate the impact of large language models on teaching, learning, assessment, and academic integrity. It examined students’ awareness, perceptions, and patterns of AI use in academic work, producing a detailed report that also informed institutional policy development. Practical outputs included guidance materials, social media content, and a project website documenting the research and providing access to resources. A student-led information campaign, supported by trained AI champions, raised awareness and promoted the ethical and responsible use of large language models across the university. A reusable training toolkit was developed to support future AI champions and sustain the campaign. The project’s findings were also disseminated through peer-reviewed publication and conference papers and presentations.
