About this initiative

This project is informed primarily by the ESD theme ; 1. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD); This project will see further development of an outdoor learning space to support education on food sustainability. It will also see students undertake a practical project in the area of food waste management, with opportunity to disseminate results at a Green Campus Committee gathering and Irish Hospitality Industry Committee gathering. Students will be involved from the initial stages of establishing the volume of food waste generated at Taste, right through to using the bi-product of anaerobic digestion in fertilising our crops for menu.
