SETU Cookery Book

About this initiative

As part of the Media & Visual Arts module on the 4th year of the Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts programme, students are working on food imagery, promotion and design. This module follows on from another media based module, which focused in on food writing. To conflate the two, the proposed project would see the students write some original recipes, plan a photo mood board and concept in SETU. It would also see the students travel to Dublin to work with a professional food photographer and stylist and have the students’ dishes styled, propped and photographed to a very high-end professional finish, including an understanding on post production work. The students would also have a professional portrait picture taken. All of this work would be collated into an e-book, along with the students’ original recipes, and some other excerpts of food writing and professionally designed, suitable for distribution through the SETU staff email, media outlets and other social media.
