This proposed project describes and investigates the immersion principle in multimedia learning from technological and engineering perspectives which can be part of digital transformation in the tertiary sector and with SETU’s future strategy and vision. This project will design innovative training sessions (i.e., interactive mini-workshops) for undergraduate students to investigate the possibilities of immersive lessons in technical subjects to add positive longitudinal effects for learning using the cognitive-affective model of immersive learning and the concepts of challenge-based learning approach. The target efforts will try to create a clear picture and support the development of institutional policies for digital teaching and learning, including blended and mixed reality learning modes. Additionally, create the engineering and educational bases to develop the innovative toolkit, which includes interactive resources to support learning and enhance technology-enabled practice education. These developed resources will help students and educators prepare for experiments and learning through technology (initial case study: avionic/electronic engineering). It will help students optimise their learning from virtual practice in immersive environments and simulation-based learning. Ultimately it will support the enhanced delivery of some technical and technological services as students will be better prepared for modern service delivery.
