Coding theory is a major component of Applied Algebra. It has many applications in the mathematics of communications and has many links with other scientific disciplines, such as electrical engineering and computer science. Coding theory arises in almost every imaginable digital communications and storage system. In UCD, it is taught at the undergraduate level in the module MATH30180 An Introduction to Coding Theory.
Integrating AI And Metaverse Technologies For Advanced Innovative Education
About this initiative
Numerous educational activities have been undertaken in the realm of immersive technology in high education to integrate VR tools with various topics [1-3]. This initiative seeks to integrate generative AI and immersive Metaverse technologies (i.e., augmented reality tools in this stage) into engineering education to create engaging, interactive, and personalized learning environments that align with themes of digital transformation in education and future-ready graduates and teaching for engagement and student success. The project will develop a concept of prototype Metaverse platform that combines AI-powered avatars and 3D virtual spaces for collaborative, hands-on exploration of engineering concepts, especially audio generation in AI-powered avatars enhances their ability to interact naturally and effectively. These avatars use AI to produce lifelike speech, enabling real-time, natural conversations [4-5]. The project’s goal is to enhance student engagement, comprehension, and skill development in alignment with sustainable future education and digital transformation priorities. The initiative will try to integrate concepts of AI-Metaverse technologies into the principles of Kolb’s learning cycle, as shown in Figure 1. This integration might ensure dynamic, personalized, and interactive learning, enhancing engagement and comprehension at every stage.
