Coding theory is a major component of Applied Algebra. It has many applications in the mathematics of communications and has many links with other scientific disciplines, such as electrical engineering and computer science. Coding theory arises in almost every imaginable digital communications and storage system. In UCD, it is taught at the undergraduate level in the module MATH30180 An Introduction to Coding Theory.

Audio-visual training supports for research proposal writing
About this initiative
The project has worked to develop a series of video resources to support existing training provided for postgraduate (PG) candidates developing research proposals. It has mostly focused on developing outline proposals in both Masters and PhD programmes prior to the external review process. These videos have been filmed, edited and are complete with the exception of the inclusion of the required branding (Jan 2024).
