AI MATE tool – A Pilot Study to Measure the Potential Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Academic Integrity.

About this initiative

The implementation of the proposed study is quite simple. I will obtain a sample of recent assessments from each course, and I will run the assessments through the relevant AI software. I will then submit the output to the lecturer for evaluation using the relevant marking scheme. This ensures an appropriate benchmarking test for the AI software so that we can be clearer as an institution of the challenges AI will prove for academic integrity. I will then generate a report outlining the outcomes of these tests, while collaborating with the lecturers to identify potential solutions to restructuring the assessments to overcome the risks by AI in the spirit of maintaining high quality teaching, learning and assessment.
