Computing students generally develop software with a substantial amount of code quality issues (Keuning et al., 2017). This leads to a vicious cycle as the code grows, it gets harder to understand, harder to maintain, and harder to add to. Existing solutions that enable students to systematically develop skills to produce professional-level code are limited (e.g. Codility 1 , Code Wars 2 and Hackerrank 3 focus almost exclusively on producing working code without regard for quality). This project will create an accessible, open-access web-app through which learners can systematically build software writing skills with a focus on quality. Learners will be able to review exemplars, receive immediate, automated feedback, and track their progress.
